R. Sterling Boon

The Boon Group, Inc.

R. Sterling Boon founded the first of the current five subsidiary companies that now make up The Boon Group, Inc. in July of 1982. Mr. Boon, in his position as Founder and Chairman, is involved in the strategic focus and alignment of all five companies. His management style has enabled him to attract the best and brightest of employees to join the Boon team. As The Boon Group has grown, he has relied on his Executive Management Team for all day-to-day operations.

Mr. Boon has been directly responsible for the formation of the strategic alliances that The Boon Group has enjoyed with several major insurance carriers, the purpose of which is to form a strong market presence by the development and marketing of products and administrative services for government contractors.

Mr. Boon served on the board of directors of the Service Contract Association for many years, developing solid relationships within the service industry. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and was a past president of the Sigma Chi fraternity there.

Taylor Boon, RHU, REBC

The Boon Group, Inc.

Taylor Boon Is the President for The Boon Group. He is responsible for overseeing sales, implementation, business development, pricing, and marketing. Taylor has spent his career in health insurance, working with the government contracting community as well as the brokerage community that supports it. He is versed in the fringe requirements under The Davis-Bacon Act, The McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act, and the majority of living wage ordinances in effect. Prior to joining the Boon Group in 2007, Taylor was Regional Sales Manager for Foundation One Insurance Services running sales for the southwest United States.

Taylor is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and has both the Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC) and Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designations from the American College.

Kristin Goodale

General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Director
The Boon Group, Inc.

Ms. Goodale is the senior executive responsible for all legal affairs of The Boon Group and its subsidiaries, including review and negotiation of key contracts and agreements; advising on a wide range of business, labor and employment, and regulatory issues including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, the ACA and state insurance laws and regulations; and interfacing with insurers and the Department of Labor, the state Departments of Insurance, and Medicare Secondary Payor entities on a broad range of regulatory issues. She also serves as the HIPAA Privacy and Security Officer and as the Corporate Secretary of The Boon Group, Inc.

Prior to joining The Boon Group, Inc., Ms. Goodale was an experienced litigator and appellate attorney in private practice in Austin, Texas and a known author and speaker for The Texas State Bar Continuing Legal Education Department. In 1995, after practicing for less than five years, Ms. Goodale received an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell.

Ms. Goodale holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and graduated with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1991, where she was named to the National Order of Barristers. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the American Bar Association, the Texas State Bar Association and the Travis County Bar Association.

Kathy Sullivan

Chief Financial Officer
The Boon Group, Inc.

Ms. Sullivan serves as Chief Financial Officer for The Boon Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries. Her duties include management and supervision of all accounting departments within the company’s subsidiaries, including corporate budgeting, tax filings, preparation of all financial reporting, oversight of all independent audits and second level of accounting for plans administered by The Boon Group, Inc.

Ms. Sullivan initially joined The Boon Group, Inc. as the Controller in February 1998. Prior to joining the company in 1998, she served as Chief Financial Officer for Absolute Healthcare where she was responsible for the financial operations and consolidations of more than 30 operating entities. Previously, she worked as a certified public accountant at Lockart & Associates and was involved with financial statement preparation, audits, and tax preparation for small to medium sized businesses.

Ms. Sullivan has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and is a certified public accountant.

Patrick Hagan

Executive Vice President, Business Development
Boon Insurance Management Services, L.P.

Mr. Hagan is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Business Administration and 24 years of benefits administration experience. Mr. Hagan joined the company in 1994 as Claims Manager and managed the claims and customer service division. In 2001, Mr. Hagan became the Director of Implementation and Account Services overseeing all aspects of implementation and enrollment of new business and also managed the client services division.

In the spring of 2005, Mr. Hagan accepted the position of Director of Administration for Boon Administrative Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boon Group. In this role, Mr. Hagan maintained oversight of the account services division, as well as managed the policy administration division and the special markets division, which provide various administrative services for multiple fully insured products and plans, self-insured plans and “administrative services only” arrangements. In 2006, Mr. Hagan moved into the role of Vice President of Client Services and Implementation; and in 2013 became Vice President of Client Services, overseeing the proposals team.

As of 2018, Mr. Hagan is serving as Executive Vice President, Business Development.

Kelly Adams

Chief Operating Officer
The Boon Group, Inc.

As COO, Kelly Adams joins The Boon Group executive team and will oversee all operations and key initiatives of the company.

Mr. Adams brings to The Boon Group 34 years of experience in the insurance industry. His background is in accounting and finance, having worked in several financial related positions during his career. Most recently, Mr. Adams was the Director, Finance leading Transamerica’s Management Reporting function and prior to that was Transamerica Employee Benefit’s division Chief Financial Officer. He has additional experience in financial reporting and analysis, management reporting, operational planning, management, and working with third-party administrators.

Mr. Adams completed the Executive MBA program from the Universities of Kentucky and Louisville. He holds an accounting degree from the University of Kentucky and is a Certified Public Accountant.
